El libro defiende controvertidas tesis como situar al grupo peruano Los Saicos como iniciadores del movimiento punk

El “Diccionario de punk y hardcore (España y Latinoamérica)”, editado por Fundación Autor y coordinado por el grupo de trabajo Zona de Obras, al margen de su carácter recopilatorio también defiende la tesis de que el movimiento punk nació en Perú con Los Saicos.

Así, el libro sitúa el comienzo del movimiento punk en 1964 en la ciudad de Lima, cuando dicha banda tocaron los primeros ritmos, con sus canciones urgentes, letras como cuchillos y ritmos atropellados.

El diccionario, que arranca con la entrada de A Jako Pako y culmina con los brasileños Zumbis do Espaço, hace referencia también a bandas, anécdotas o escenarios surgidos durante la época de la llamada “Transición”, la “Movida madrileña” o del rock radical vasco, que incluyen desde la Polla Records, Siniestro Total o Kortatu.

Al margen del carácter consultivo del libro también reflexiona sobre temas controvertidos como los inicios del término punk y que en esta ocasión sitúa por primera vez en 1971 en la revista Creem, para describir el salvajismo musical de los méxico-estadounidenses Question Mark & The Mysterians.

The book defends the controversial thesis that places the Peruvian group Los Saicos as initiators of the punk movement

The “Dictionary of punk and hardcore (Spain and Latin America)”, edited by Fundación Autor and coordinated by the group Zona de Obras, aside from its character as a compilation, also defends the thesis that the punk movement was born in Peru with The Saicos .

Thus, the book puts the punk movement beginning in 1964 in Lima, where the band played the first rhythms, with urgent songs, lyrics like knives and hard-hitting rhythms.

The dictionary, which begins with the entry of A Jako Pako and culminates with the Brazilian band Zumbis do Espaço, also refers to bands, stories and scenes that emerged during the era of the “Transition”, the “Madrid Movement” and Basque radical rock Basque, including La Polla Records, Siniestro Total and Kortatu.

Apart from the advisory nature of the book, it also reflects on controversial issues such as the beginning of the term punk and the first time the term appeared, in 1971 in the magazine Creem, and describes the musical savagery of Mexico-American groups such as Question Mark & The Mysterians .
