Bio
BOSS SOUND MANIFESTO is the result of many years of trying to put together an original sounding reggae/ska band in Belfast. Belfast is not renowned for having much in the way of a Jamaican community and thus finding personnel for the band was a long and arduous task, it took 2 years in total to find said personnel but once together the band ‘clicked’ and not only do they work well together they really, really enjoy the fun in the music.
The band believe that reggae and ska music are truly an international genre and have therefore tried to put their own Belfast stamp on the music, singing with a Jamaican accent never seemed right to the band, nor as non-Rastafari did the band ever feel the need to emulate something that was not of themselves. As early reggae and ska was non religious, the rhythm and infectious feel of the music was an immediate attraction for them all.
The band takes much of their influences from the boss sounds of early reggae, ska and of course the ska revival in the form of two-tone, soul and Northern Soul.
The band have been gathering pace in recent years and gaining a reputation as a must see live band. Festival promoters at home have been keen to take advantage of the bands’ live energy and drive which has seen them support the ‘Father of Reggae’ Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, The Selecter and Bad Manners.

X-Faction 2, “The Path Of Prime”.
Written and performed by Primordial Emcee.
Produced by Chief 4syt.
Video filmed, directed and edited by Primordial Emcee.
Bio
Toronto rapper Primordial Emcee is a founding member of Faction, who have released two albums and one EP since 2010. The trio are currently focused on solo projects, which includes Prime’s X-Faction 2: Reanimated, the ODB-like sequel to his group’s most successful album. XF2 follows a similar formula to the original, using comic book, anime and sci-fi concepts and metaphors to cover a range of topics.
The first single is “The Path of Prime,” produced by Faction’s Chief 4syt and inspired by The Matrix. The DIY video was filmed, directed and edited by Prime over a few months. Of the song, Prime says: “I wanted to show people my life, what I can do, and in relation to this world we live in being a matrix. The theme has so many topics I like to rhyme about, from conspiracy subject matter to science fiction, religion, a little bit of sexual humour, and just a bunch of metaphors, puns and similes from my perspective.”
Mutants, outcasts, and fans of underground rap, be prepared to throw your X’s in the air once again as X-Faction 2: Reanimated drops on Hand’Solo Records in May 2015.
